Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026

Omekolo (“we”, “our”) provides a WhatsApp-based habit and goal tracking service. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • Phone number — the WhatsApp number you message us from. This is our primary identifier for your account.
  • Name and timezone — collected during onboarding so we can address you and time daily prompts correctly.
  • Goals, check-ins, and messages — the content you send to Omekolo during use of the service.
  • Billing information — we do not store card or bank details. Payments are handled by PayPal and Razorpay; we store only the subscription identifier and status they return to us.

1.2 Information we generate

  • Streak counts, check-in history, and weekly review summaries.
  • Delivery and read receipts forwarded by WhatsApp / Twilio for messages we send you.
  • Diagnostic logs of message processing for reliability.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to your WhatsApp messages and run the service.
  • To send daily prompts, reminders, and weekly reviews.
  • To process subscription payments and manage trial / active / cancelled states.
  • To investigate bugs, abuse, and policy violations.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers strictly necessary to deliver the service:

  • Twilio, Inc. and WhatsApp / Meta — to deliver and receive your WhatsApp messages. Your phone number and message contents pass through their infrastructure.
  • PayPal and Razorpay — to take payment and manage subscriptions. They receive whatever identifying details you provide to them directly during checkout.
  • Anthropic and Groq — we use these AI providers to generate weekly review text and to interpret some messages. Message content and goal summaries may be sent to them. Data retention by Anthropic and Groq is governed by their respective terms of service. We do not opt in to model training with user conversations.
  • Cloud hosting provider — our application and database run on commodity cloud infrastructure with standard access controls.

4. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel or your account is deleted, we retain:

  • Billing and audit records for up to 7 years, where required by tax and accounting law.
  • All other personal data is deleted within 30 days of cancellation or on request, whichever comes first.

5. Your rights

You may at any time:

  • Export your data — reply MY DATA on WhatsApp to receive a copy of everything we hold about you.
  • Delete your account — reply DELETE MY DATA on WhatsApp. We will confirm and then permanently delete your data within 30 days.
  • Pause messages — reply STOP or PAUSE to stop all outbound messages.

6. Security

We encrypt data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted, logged, and reviewed. We do not store payment card information ourselves.

7. Children

Omekolo is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.

8. International transfers

Omekolo’s service providers operate globally. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on the standard contractual safeguards provided by those vendors.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via WhatsApp message to active users at least 14 days before they take effect.
